Health & Aged Care

At Xeros Piccolo Consulting Engineers, we understand that the healthcare and aged care sectors present unique challenges that demand precision, innovation, and reliability. Engineering plays a vital role in ensuring that hospitals, clinics, research facilities, and aged care centres operate efficiently, safely, and sustainably. From the earliest planning and design stages through to construction, our expertise helps create environments that meet stringent regulatory standards, support advanced medical and care technologies, and provide safe, comfortable spaces for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

Our engineering teams work collaboratively with healthcare providers, architects, and facility planners to deliver solutions that combine structural integrity and functional design with a deep understanding of how people use and experience these spaces. We consider every detail — accessibility, comfort, and safety — ensuring that each project supports wellbeing and enhances daily life.

In aged care, we prioritise functionality, designing environments that foster independence, safety, and community. Our projects prioritise long-term durability, low maintenance, and compliance with accessibility and health regulations, all while creating welcoming spaces that feel like home.

We are proud to contribute to healthcare and aged care projects that strengthen community wellbeing and improve quality of life, demonstrating how thoughtful, technically excellent engineering can make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

Our engineering expertise extends across a wide range of healthcare sector projects, including:

  • Hospital design (new or existing), including emergency departments
  • Medical clinics, community healthcare centres, and therapy centres
  • Residential aged care facilities (low and high care), independent living units, and retirement villages
  • Assisted living and supported accommodation developments
  • Extensions and alterations to existing facilities
  • Community and recreation spaces within health and aged care facilities
  • Diagnostic imaging centres and specialist treatment units
  • Accessibility upgrades, compliance works, infrastructure upgrades, and site redevelopment works
  • Stormwater, roadworks, and car park design for health and aged care campuses

We were proudly part of the massive undertaking of redeveloping the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital that commenced in 2012 and was opened to patients in 2016. Our work encompassed several areas of the hospital, including the demolition of the old nurses’ home and the construction of the new ambulance bay, helping to create a modern, state-of-the-art facility that provides exceptional care for the Wagga Wagga community. By combining technical precision with a thorough understanding of healthcare requirements, we contributed to a project that enhances patient outcomes, supports medical staff, and delivers a facility built to serve the region for decades to come.

Wagga Aged Care

We were engaged to provide both structural and civil engineering services for the Wagga Wagga Community Aged Care project. Working alongside other contractors, we were part of the team that delivered a high-quality facility, designed to meet the needs of residents and staff. Our team undertook detailed reviews of the structural and civil documentation, as well as carried out construction site inspections to ensure that works were completed in accordance with the approved engineering designs and relevant standards. Through our attention to detail and collaborative approach, we helped deliver a safe, functional, and compliant aged care environment that enhances comfort, accessibility, and community wellbeing.
