At Xeros Piccolo Consulting Engineers, we recognise the importance of developing the next generation of engineers and drafters to ensure the continued strength of our industry. Our commitment to professional growth extends beyond project delivery — we actively invest in training, mentoring, and supporting emerging professional, as they build their technical knowledge and practical experience.
Through structured guidance, hands-on project involvement, and exposure to a diverse range of engineering challenges, our graduates and trainees gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their careers. We take pride in providing an environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully while continuing to develop their professional capabilities.
We welcome students from universities, TAFE, private colleges and institutions, and schools.
Since the introduction of the Bachelor of Technology / Master of Engineering (Civil Systems) degree at Charles Sturt University, we have proudly employed undergraduate engineers from the program, beginning with its inaugural student placements. We commend Charles Sturt University for this innovative initiative, which enables students to gain valuable real-world experience while completing their studies. The program also supports regional development by placing students locally, helping to retain talented young professionals within the Riverina and strengthening the local engineering community.
We are delighted to collaborate with TAFE NSW in supporting the training and development of aspiring drafters through the Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting program and related courses. By providing practical work experience and mentorship alongside their formal studies, we help students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world projects, preparing them for successful careers in engineering drafting. This partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing technical talent, fostering professional growth, and strengthening the local engineering workforce. A number of our drafters have completed their studies through TAFE NSW while also working to gain hands-on experience.
We welcome students, recent graduates, and aspiring professionals seeking placements or work experience across engineering and drafting disciplines. Our placements are designed to provide meaningful, hands-on exposure to real-world projects, enabling participants to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
During placements or work experience with our company, individuals have the opportunity to observe and contribute to a wide range of engineering activities, including civil and structural design, drafting, project management, and problem-solving in a collaborative consultancy environment. Participants are supported through mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, allowing them to develop technical skills, professional confidence, and an understanding of industry standards and workplace practices.
Whether part of formal studies or undertaken independently, our placement and work experience opportunities aim to cultivate the next generation of engineering talent and provide a foundation for long-term career development.
